As the first dog of our own, Mechje will always have a special place in our lives. In the nest she and her brother Arthur were the life of the party. Mechje means girl in Limburgish, a very common name for a tough girl.

Mechje started hunting training on the estate at the age of 6 months and at the puppy hunting training of the KNJV. We also follow show training at Ringtraining Noord-Limburg in Gennep. Mechje is passionate about retrieving both dummy and game. She has mastered Steadiness well. Like every Field, she needs time to mature, a Field is not a breed for people who are in a hurry.

Health:
Mechje has been officially tested on her hips and has the HDA result with a Norberg value of 40. She underwent the ECVO test before her eyes in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
