This standard describes the requirements that the ideal Field Spaniel must meet. To date, the perfect dog has never been bred. That won’t happen anytime soon, because the breed standard can be interpreted freely. Most importantly, the Field Spaniel is a healthy and sociable dog that is an asset to the family in a suitable environment. With its medium-length coat, it is a sober dog, unadorned and easy to handle.
